That’sthe outcome of the 25th Golden Joystick Awards, the nation’s biggest gaming awards gig. Unlike the Wii-love in last week at the BAFTA 2007 Video Game Awards, these ones are all voted for by the public – not a panel of ‘experts’.

Gears of War for the Xbox 360 stormed home to snatch the Ultimate Game of the Year 2007 gong, along with Editors Choice, Xbox Game of the Year and Nuts All-Nighter awards.

The Wii, which cleaned up at the BAFTAs a few days ago, won just two here: Family Game of the Year award and the Wii itself rightly picked up Innovation of the Year.

I personally noticed that a lot while playing on Live, coz 95% of the time, when I join games, the players are British, and I like how they talk
